Not all repair will include a complicated process to get the device fixed. For example in this case, a simple attention to details brought this power supply back to life.

hoverboard power supply repair

As the customer explained that he was hearing an electrical buzzing noise coming from inside the hovering board charger and the suddenly the charger stopped working.

As always, I had to splice the charger open get it fixed because I have a good idea what was going on with this charger.

As expected, a few soldering joint had gone bad but there was one nasty joint that was completely loose which explains the buzzing noise and why the charger stopped working.

Note here the dark burning spot on the inside housing of the charger which is a good indication of burning marks causing this fault.

Dry solder is always a killer! Good that you could easily fix it up though the inside was in a mess! Good job there and thanks for sharing!

    Greeting!
Sir, I’m currently repairing a Samsung smart TV 32 inches. The symptoms is “Blinking power LED” after 6 blinks it goes to power off. I’d checked voltages on power supply board with mainboard disconnected. I got 13, 5 & 3V on I/O terminal. I presumed that in this condition PS board is good.

If I’m true, in this condition Sir, what component possibly the cause of this problem?
