A kid next door brought a broken toy to my shop. He lives across the street and when he entered the shop, he went directly to explain the problem right away. I understood later on that this toy was for his little sister and he wanted to get it fixed for her.

The kid explained that when he push the power switch on, this white piece suppose to rotate back and forth. When I pushed the power button, I could hear music coming on but this piece was not rotating.

The kid would not leave my shop; he was just sitting there looking to what I was doing. He was telling me how much he loves his little sister and wanted to surprise her with the repair while she was outside the house with her parents.

It a brand new toy and if you look to the battery terminals, they are very shinny. The batteries are always fresh; which means, that was not the issue with this toy.

Few screws off, I was able to open it and check it out.

Speaker was fine since I was able to hear music on that toy. I went further in the repair and took the blue plastic piece off.

That is the motor that was suppose to rotate that white piece.

I was about to test the voltages reaching that motor when I saw this.

A loose connection was the main issue here. Yes it was an easy fix but it was worth it. I re soldered that wire back on, gave it to the boy and he just took off with it.

Later on his dad came and offered to pay for it. I refused to take any money since it was any easy fix and it did not cost me anything. Two days later, the kid came back to me and said thanks and gave me a hug. Glad to see the kid happy that the toy of his sister was fixed and I was happy for that. Mission accomplished.
