A customer brought this to my shop for repair. The device works fine but the moment the power cable was bent, the device looses power and goes into shut down. I have repaired many of them and the power cable is most common problem in these devices.

It is a very good brand and it is well known in my area.

The first time I worked on such devices, it took me a while to figure out how to open them.

It took me about 45 minutes to get them open but now that I know how, it only takes about five minutes.

Just slide a flat screw driver beneath the round plastic piece and gently press up. There are two clips beneath that so be gentle otherwise you might break them.

You have to do that on both sides of the device. Once you see the screw in there, just unscrew it and it will come apart.

Once that is done, you will be able to see the two screws that are holding the plastic piece that holds the electrical wire. Take them out and you will get to the power cable.

That is the power cable and if you check it out closely you will see it is a nice design. When moving the hair styler around, the cable spins with it and that way the power cable will not get tangled.

From the look of it, I could see that the power cable is bad and need to be replaced.

When I checked the power cable, with multi meter set on continuity, the problem was with the brown wire. The only way to fix this device is by replacing the whole cable.

A nearby cosmetic shop who sells same devices; there I was able to find a brand new one.

The new power cable already installed and when I tested the device, it was working fine. Mission Accomplished.

Luckily the nearby cosmetic shop sold the same devices and also just the cables for it. Something you normally would not expect.

Good job, Waleed. I don’t think the cable turns, I think the hairstyler turns on the cable so that the cable doesn’t get twisted. That is probably what you were trying to say.
