A friend of mine brought this laminator for repair and explained that while doing laminations on it, the paper got jammed and get stuck inside. They tried to get it open and take the jammed paper out without any use.

laminating machine repair

It was powering on fine but the lamination process on this device was nearly impossible because of the jammed paper inside.

According the customer it is an expensive machine and it was worth the repair. I have to do a lot dismantling before I get to the jammed paper.

As I started to take some screws off to expose the inside of this device I noticed the difficult task ahead of me but hoped for the best.

That is the first look inside this machine and a lot of rotating drums to be take out and cleaned.

That is one of the rotating drums that was actually dirty and had red color all of it and it has to be cleaned.

I was thinking if I cleaned the drums and then rotated the machine backwards; the paper will come out easily.

I cleaned what I could on most of the rotating drums and tried to get the jammed paper out but sad to say that plan did not work.

This metal bars were holding the jammed paper inside and it has to come off in order for the paper to come out as well.

This plastic piece was holding the entire machine together so this has to come out as well.

Finally I got to the whole paper and I got it out. You can see the red color of the paper that was actually melting on the rotating drums of the machine.

After this stage of the repair, I could not take any photos due to the fact that my hands were dirty of all the cleaning and putting the machine all back together.

The customer came and got the machine. I did not have any laminating paper to test the machine so the customer will test it out and let me know how it went.

An hour later I got a message from the customer saying it was working fine. I told him it is a good idea when doing the lamination to stay by the machine and make sure it does not jam and if it does just push the backward direction switch and the paper will come out.

Mission Accomplished.

I do not know why this laminator was such an expensive machine? I bought one for just about 18 Euro or even less. And if it did cost around the $44 that Google maybe suggested, this laminator was simply way too expensive. That it had a transport back/reverse button may be the reason because my A4 Chengbang LM910 had none. But it never needed that either (LOL). And reversing the heated foil probably only would make it worse if it had one!

Albert: from working on this machine, it is a heavy duty one. it was heavy to carry and was hard to work on too because of so many things to take apart to get to jammed paper. any way, it was fixed and customer happy. have a blessed day

Looked like a rescue operation of trapped victims from debris of an earthquake! The only difference is the effort there is to take a person alive with minimum or no extra injury, whereas in this case, rescue the machine with minimum or no damage, from the trapped debris! Well, you keep getting enjoyable and amusing problems, dear! Many thanks for sharing!
